Brand Activation | Los Angeles, CA | Custom Enclosed Photo Booth
Two guests leaned in for a photo with a blue plush toy. A few poses later, they were holding up a photo strip and making faces. That’s the sort of fun we brought to Momotoys’ shop at ComplexCon 2026.
Our custom enclosed photo booth sat among the clothes and collectibles at Momotoys LA’s activation in Los Angeles. It had the charm of an old photo booth dressed up with a little Momotoys color with its green curtain and wood-look panels.
For the two-day celebration, we gave the booth a pink-and-burgundy look built around Poshmark and its “Try Yourself On” message. Guests supplied the personality.

Momotoys’ shop had plenty to catch the eye. Collectible figures filled the shelves, with clothing on display beside bold patterns and bright colors.
The branded photo booth gave visitors something to do together as they explored Momotoys’ curated toy and gift shop. We wanted it to feel like part of the visit, with the same sense of play that drew people to the shelves.
ComplexCon’s 10th-anniversary celebration was also its Los Angeles debut. More than 350 booths filled the marketplace, so visitors had a lot of ground to cover.
We needed a setup people could recognize at a glance and use without much explanation. Space mattered, too. This was a shop, with merchandise on either side of the booth. The entrance had to be easy to reach, with room in front for guests to step in and out.
We positioned our vintage enclosed booth between the clothing rack and toy shelves. The entrance faced the open floor.
The silver frame and checkerboard flooring added to the retro look. Once inside, guests could pull the curtain across for a little privacy. They could pose together without having the exhibition floor watching over their shoulders.
The front panel featured blue-and-green plaid with Momotoys’ orange logo. We included @momotoysla below to make the shop’s account easy to find.
That plaid appeared on the photo strips as well. It framed three photos, with “Momotoys” and “ComplexCon” printed in orange at the bottom. The design left plenty of space for the pictures while keeping both names large enough to read.
There’s a lot going on in the sample strip. One guest rests her chin on her hands. Another holds up a finished photo strip for the camera. Their blue plush toy gets a starring role in two of the shots.
Those little changes are part of the appeal of a three-frame strip. You can start with a smile and try something sillier for the next photo. The plain cream background left the guests and their toy to fill the picture.
Guests had a printed strip to take away, plus the option to receive their photos digitally via text message or download.
A physical print is easy to slip into a shopping bag and take home. Having the image on a phone makes it handy to send to the friend who was in the booth with you. The Momotoys design was included in both.
The analytics recorded 183 sessions and 549 individual images. They also logged 149 views, with software reporting a reach of 14,089 and 47,671 impressions.
Here’s what those numbers tell us:
Momotoys can compare these results with future pop-ups to see which events encourage more participation and sharing. If guests opted into marketing, the team could follow up with new toy releases or invitations to visit the shop. Tracking clicks and offer redemptions would then help Momotoys connect those follow-ups to purchases and plan its next promotion.
The vintage booth brought a familiar bit of nostalgia to the busy exhibition floor. Momotoys’ shop became a place for visitors to gather and take a break from browsing. Posing with a toy brought Momotoys’ playful character into the photos. Their finished strip became another keepsake from a shop already filled with things worth collecting.
For Momotoys, the value of this experiential marketing came from being part of something guests enjoyed doing together. A friend’s face gives you a reason to keep a photo. The shop’s name on that same strip helps you remember where it happened.
